Sarfira, a 2024 Indian drama, is a worthy cinematic experience which takes the viewer on the journey of the pursuing of the dream in spite of the adversities. Based on the real life events of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of the no frills flying ‘Simplifly Deccan” the film captures the saga of a man who will not conform but rebels against the tradition. 

Akshay Kumar looks best suited for the lead role of a man with a vision to take flying a plane alright to the lower strata of the society. It explores the difficulties he faces when he brings competition with set airlines, institutions and bodies, and inadequate finances. The concept carries the viewer through a range of emotions and demonstrates the main character’s tenacity as well as the personal costs he is willing to pay for a grandiose dream. 

The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara who has extremely well managed to portray the actual environment of aviation along with the pathos of the start-up landscapes. Film making and screenplay of the film are excellent as the film manages to draw the viewer into the story and has properly developed characters. 

With the artistry of outstanding co-stars like Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan, one will find strong acting performances that contribute to the film plot. The music and visuals used in the movie;  background scores and camera work to support the narrative are good. 

Thus, Sarfira is not only a film but an outstanding story full of hope and the triumph of a heart. It is absolutely recommendable for the ‘Cinephile’ as well as the one who holds on to the capacity of the human spirit irrespective of the odds.
